So Katy, tell us a bit about yourself:
I am originally from Glasgow, and first moved to England, (originally to Blackburn) in 2019 due to my husband’s job, and then onto Chester in 2021 to be closer to my family.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going on hikes and runs, and most Sundays, you will find me tuned into the F1!
What is your role in Oxbury and when did you join?
I first joined Oxbury in March 2023 as an IT Support Analyst, this year in September I have taken a slightly different path and changed roles to Banking Platform IT Support Analyst.
Tell us about your background and how that has led to you working at Oxbury and the role that you are in?
I first started in the education sector and then moved into Managed Service Provider (MSPs) before working for Oxbury which has been a fantastic and challenging opportunity. Having not had any background in banking, or farming for that matter, it has been a large learning curve.
I was first attracted to the position after learning about the support they offer to farmers. After watching Clarkston’s Farm, like most of the UK, I had a newfound interest in everything farming so when the job came up at Oxbury I knew it was meant to be.
How would your colleagues describe you in 3 words?
- Methodical
- Approachable
- Focused
What do you like most in your current role?
Over the past year whilst working at Oxbury, it has taught me not only about my own sector IT, but also about British farming and how important it is that we support the sector in any way we can.
Do you have a funny moment you can share that has happened to you at work?
There are too many to just pick one!
What is your proudest moment from working at Oxbury?
I am lucky to have a number of proud moments, but I think for me, the proudest is being a part of the team that has built, supports, and develops the banking platform, Oxbury Earth.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself or an interesting, yet unhelpful fact that you know?
Fun fact, initially when I was asked to take part in this interview, I couldn’t think of a fun fact about myself, so it inspired me to sign up and run this year’s Chester Marathon, which I have now completed and I finished in 4hrs and 25mins!
